SENIOR INSTRUCTOR |
The summer after my sophomore year in college I had the opportunity to travel to Colorado and take a couple of courses in Pagosa Springs. I couldn't deny the fact that what I had learned about my horse and myself in the last two weeks was causing him to perform better than anything I was doing before - right down to the subtlest of suggestions. I could sense him asking questions. I was noticing things I had never noticed before or was even aware could exist between a horse and human. I stayed on as a working student to learn more and was invited to travel with Pat and Linda as they toured around the states. I did this for several years.
One of my favorite memories of traveling with Pat was being apart of a colt start that Ronnie Willis and Pat taught. It didn't matter what horse came into the picture everything Ronnie and Pat suggested students to do was just what every colt needed. My passion is horsemanship with a strong focus in colt starting. It amazes me the transformation a horse makes to accept a passenger on his back and allow him to stay there as a leader.
Through the years I have come back to Texas working for ranches helping them with their horses and teaching around the country to students of the Parelli Program; and traveling back to ride with Pat for extended periods of time as well as teaching at the Study Centers in Australia and the U.K. I have enjoyed sharing what has been shared with me through these years to people who are looking to better themselves for their horses.
I currently reside in Farwell, TX where my wife, Tara, and I currently start and develop a strong foundation on young horses so that they may successfully perform in a variety of disciplines. We are available to travel, sharing what we know and seeking the next level of excellence for ourselves, our horses, and for our students and their horses.
