My life is all about horses and has been that way as long as I can remember. I was lucky enough to have ponies as a child, my poor parents...... I must have driven them crazy! Horses, horses, and more horses...that's all I thought about. So I was steered along a very traditional path....Pony Club member, then training for British Horse Society exams. The days of getting off the school bus and riding my pony bareback up through the field to my home, covering my school uniform in horsehair, were coming to a close; soon I would be strutting about in breeches and boots slapping my thigh with a crop!
Actually, even back then it didn't feel right, and soon after my BHS exams I set off travelling and spent the next few years working in Italy, France, Holland and Germany, as a rider/groom, so always with horses, but a little less traditional. Then for the next 20 odd years I worked in the equine industry, but it wasn't until 2002 that a horse, 'Rocky' came into my life and turned things upside down. In fact it was me he turned upside down..... several times!
I think Rocky came in to my life for a reason, and I'm so glad he did because he showed me the way to Pat and Linda. Of course, I didn't know that at the time, and it took quite a while for the penny to drop, but when it did I realised that this was what I had been preparing for all my life.
